Land based applications
Over 70% of global CO2 emissions come from the industrial and power generation sectors.
Large scale emitters may well find their solutions in significant capital-intensive solutions such as the installation of zero emission power plants or the application of traditional carbon capture technologies. For smaller emitters the challenges are very similar to those faced by the maritime sector i.e., finding a solution which can fit into their congested industrial processes to capture their comparatively small, per site, emissions.
Significant opportunities are arising for the reuse of carbon dioxide, particularly from non-fossil sources, such as in the synthesis of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The high cost of directly captured atmospheric carbon dioxide means that capture from other biogenic sources at modest scale will benefit from the simple application, high performance and direct production of pure carbon dioxide by the A3C process.
A3C has the additional benefit of optionally producing liquid CO2 direct from the capture process, simplifying transport and storage without additional complexity.
